Transportation Exchange Load Matching Freight Auction

Shippers and carriers are enrolled as members of the Bid Freight Network, each with their respective privileges and responsibilities. Shippers must be credit worthy and carriers must demonstrate the highest quality of professional service delivery.

Shippers initiate a transaction by posting truckload freight to the system. These loads are viewed for bidding (and subsequent optional negotiation) directly by carriers. The carrier views a load based on his profile, which includes the type of equipment that he can make available and his origin - destination requirements.

Shippers evaluate the received bids and award or decline as appropriate. Upon notification of award, the carrier has the option to accept or decline. If accepted, the system sends an electronic proof of delivery (POD) to the carrier.

The POD is presented by the carrier at the shipper's point of origin as authorization for pick up. Upon delivery, the POD is signed by the consignee and given to the carrier.

The carrier sends the signed POD to bid freight logistics. A match is made between the records of consummated transactions and signed POD's. This match triggers payment to the carrier.
