Freight Logistics, Inc., is a business-to-business, web based exchange
that provides an ASP hosted load execution and procurement system
for transportation and logistics professionals. The system
tool provides both for load tendering to contracted rate and
dedicated carriers (logistics based), and for public bidding through
a reverse auction model for spot market and unfilled loads
(transactional based). Additional value ads include template
storage of rate and lane information as well as sell price
information and margin storage by lane for third parties, shipper
load dispatch sheets, on-line documentation, electronic files, back
office applications that relate to freight payment and freight
audit, and an integrated wireless trace and track offering targeted
at private fleets..
The company markets two primary products,
a Network or direct shipper/carrier product, and a 3PL Product for
brokers and 3PL’s. Recently, however, BFL has added a new
market offering to its product suite at the request of our larger
Network customer base, that of an Internet Logistics Operator. This
model provides total outsourcing capabilities for our larger clients
including lane pricing and operations execution using the Bid
Freight Logistics suite of tools. The Bid Freight Logistics solution is a
load execution and procurement system versus a planning system.
Its ubiquitous and robust technology applications are highly
scalable and adaptable to multiple user types and easily integrate
with customers’ legacy systems used on the planning side.
As members of our exchange, clients not
only benefit from the robust cost and time saving process
applications provided in our product suite, but also from the
extensive collaborative effect derived from the community created by
our multiple member organizations and strategic partners working
together to coordinate processes and optimize asset utilization
across their supply chains.
Used as a web based procurement arm through
the bidding functionality of the auction engine and with its ability
to manage contractual rates, the Bid Freight Logistics system enables
clients to mesh its logistics processes with its manufacturing
processes. The powerful information sharing tools provided by
the Bid Freight system provide both internal and
cross-organizational integration mechanisms that enable
organizations to synchronize their trading partners’ activities in
trading networks, provide bonds with other trading networks, build
cooperation, and foster trust
